Honestly, one blog every 8 months is sufficient for our rather stale lives. Some things have changed since April (mostly not though)...

Heath:
Shameless Plug: *If you or anyone needs a dent(s) removed from a vehicle- I know someone. No more working at a restaurant. Heath is now working as a paint less-dent remover, which has interesting hours and a really cool car attached to it. He is currently working on a very special project that has a very large amount of secrecy surrounding it- McKenzie tells me "it's" a horse, I have no clue. Confused? Me too. The deer hunt this fall was unsuccessful (no tears were shed by me). Tip: when the deer live in your backyard I think they are "on" to you.

Me:
I am a "teacher". My life is filled with grading papers, cutting, pasting, planning, copying, etc... I wish I got paid by the hour. I love my job though- there really is nothing like being in charge of a group of children all day long and feeling good about what you "do". If it weren't against the law I would post a picture of the class on "red" day (it looks like someone vomited U of U in our classroom). I am running the Ragnar (apparently) in June. Also, I have taken up a new hobby: real-life bumper cars. I've also decided that I need some items to add to my dinner menu, it is difficult cooking every night.

McKenzie:
As cheerful as always McKenzie is clearly cut out for being a girl. She will be getting married in the spring to a lovely boy named Afton. I've only met him once (while eating his go-gurt during the zoo field-trip lunch picnic) but he seems able to tolerate her drama so he's "in". McKenzie is enjoying her preschool time and will continue her dream of becoming a world renowned dancer (or princess, whichever comes first) one dance class at a time. Her hobbies include, but are not limited to: torturing Morgan, singing, talking nonstop, torturing Morgan, playing with princesses, watching movies, being tortured by Morgan, painting fingernails, and crying.

Morgan:
Boy. Boy. Boy. Into everything. Sticky, stinky, silly, adventurous, handsome, sweet, needy, spoiled, boy. Morgan didn't start walking- he ran. He climbs and is taking his time with the talking- I blame the tumble off the bed onto the hardwood floor when he was an infant as part of the problem, but more likely it is the binky (pacifier) he clings to like a bald man to his toupee during a windstorm.

Easter was fun, we had Heath's parents down from Wyoming. It snowed like 10 feet, so the egg hunt was inside and fairly uneventful. Did I mention there was candy?

Another successful Christmas. This year we spent our time in Wyoming with Heath's family: above is a picture of us on Christmas Eve.

School has started again for me. Another full-time semester, and more work than I care to share with others. I work part time at the restaurant as a server, still. I am with my two children and husband with what little time I have during the day- I am so grateful for the love and support of all my family and friends!
This past year has brought some changes for McKenzie- such as: potty training, turning 3, seeing the princesses, being a princess, playing with princesses, talking like a princess, watching movies, (OK- so not very many of those are changes, but she is grown up before our eyes)...She has a big personality to go along with her big smile!

Morgan is 9 months old. He is in the 90% and above for height, weight, and head size. He wants to be mobile but lacks the basic understanding of how to work his body (thank goodness). Our family dynamic has changed completely since the birth of Morgan last April- we are so happy to have him... Such a good boy. Also- he has four (almost five) teeth now.

Heath is working as Manager at the restaurant. He is excited about a new job he just started at a local academy for older kids- he will be teaching them to fly as part of their extra curricular activities. He has only been an employee for one week and has yet to know if he really enjoys the job. The big deal is- he gets to fly everyday!

It was Morgan's 1st Thanksgiving! Our holiday was spent at The Parents' House with family, friends, new faces, and food. Sadly, there were no left-overs which is really the only reason to make all of that food. Cold turkey sandwiches are my favorite.

Life is fun. I promise I didn't drop off the face of the earth. School is my life right now, besides my family and work- all of which keep me very busy.

Heath takes care of both of the kids while I go to school everyday in the morning. I have a wonderful husband who isn't afraid of being with his two small children. I appreciate his love and support.

I am taking 16 credits this fall- it's a lot of work. I get to start teaching with my partner, Heidi, in November. I am really looking forward to it (knock on wood).

McKenzie is a lovable yet challenging little 3 year old. I can't believe how hard it is raising a toddler. She is taking dance classes once a week- SHE LOVES IT! She has quite a personality, already. Who said girls are easier?! Did someone really say that?

Morgan is one of the sweetest babies I've ever met. :) He can roll from front to back and back to front. He likes to talk and laughs a lot. He is eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and formula. I'm not sure of his exact weight but he is very large and handsome.

Morgan is 3 months old today!

He sleeps through the night, mostly. He laughs and coos A LOT.

Smiling is his favorite pastime.

What a strong boy he is- holding his head without help and kicking his legs like he's running a marathon.

I am not a perfect person, I know this. Not everyone I know believes the same things as me, thinks the same way I do, or would make the same decisions I've made. Here are some things that I've been thinking about the past few days...

1. Shampoo: Is there really that big of a difference between all of the shampoos? I buy the not cheap/not expensive kind that is meant for blonds-natural or not. What is the ingredient used that makes it exclusively helpful for blondies? Or is this an example of the consumer (me) falling for the crap being fed to her? There probably isn't a difference- it is all psychological.

2. Facebook.

3. I have watched every episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8. Is it stupid that I liked this show? Don't answer that. I feel like such a sucker, because now it seems like Jon & Kate are purposely exploiting their small children for money, when before I thought it was just a way for people to see what it was like to raise multiples. What happened?

4. Since when did manners go out the window? Would it be too much to ask for someone to appreciate the nice things people did for them- all out of love? Seriously- a bunch of persons that I know did something really great for one particular person this weekend and I don't think any of them were ever thanked. NEVER underestimate the importance or weight of a heartfelt "thank you."

5. Speaking of weddings, I have been presented with a somewhat peculiar request (more than once), I am wondering if it is normal or if I am justified in being a tiny bit annoyed by this reoccurring scenario: I have been invited to a bridal shower for someone I have never spoken to in my life, and this person is having a "small" wedding- which means that I won't be invited to the reception. Now this may not seem like a big deal to most- this is the FOURTH time this has happened to me- being invited to the bridal shower and not the reception and a couple of times I didn't even receive an announcement so I'm not even sure the couple went through with the wedding and what really happened to that ten dollar gift that I gave you that took me 4 hours to find because the parking lot at target was filled with toddlers running everywhere and forget trying to get the damn registry thing to print and is this the right color of towels or is it the darker shade of red and why can't I find the matching dishcloths? Perhaps this is a new thing to do- even though I believe it to be a smidge (that's right, I wrote the word smidge) on the side of tacky. If you aren't going to invite me to your wedding then I'm probably not important enough (and I'm not) to be invited to your bridal shower- you must be slightly desperate to be inviting me anyway since I have no money and can only afford to get you a "small" gift. Maybe these people feel sorry for me because I have like three friends and think that I have no life which is obvious after reading this post and in that case: I'd rather not receive your pity-invite thank you very much.

The month of May has come and gone.

It has brought about our five year anniversary, the one month status of our son, a fun party at my Mom's house, a visit from Heath's parents, going back to work from maternity leave along with the last day of school, a trip to TPI, the arrival of my AS diploma, and the start of a new job. Everyone is healthy and oh yeah- we are surviving just like everyone else.

McKenzie is a vigilant helper. Whenever the baby starts to cry she shoves something, anything in his mouth. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Morgan is now 1 month. He sleeps up to six hours during the night. He eats a lot. He cries when he is distraught.

This is our son, Morgan Lee. The birth story is nothing too exciting- I was induced and around 12 hours later I pushed this big guy out (with the help of my friend Mr. Epidural).

He was: 8 pounds and 15 oz.

20.5 in.

He really is such a sweet boy. On Easter we found out that he has jaundice and he has had to be under the bili lights ever since. It has been hard on all of us. Thank you to my parents and wonderful husband for taking care of McKenzie and me!

I had my final Dr. Apt. today before the baby comes. I am almost fully effaced and dilated to a three. We are hoping the baby comes on it's own (possible this weekend and all positive thoughts are welcome) but if it doesn't- I will be induced on Wednesday morning.

I really do like blogging still. The problem is, I've been so busy that it has been last on my priority list.

Here is an update of what is going on:

-McKenzie-

1. Still in the process of potty-training, she does ask to go to the bathroom about half the time and only for #1. I'm still debating about starting her in preschool this fall, I wish I could see into the future: that way I could know for sure if she will be ready. Such a hard decision.

2. She sleeps in an actual big-girl bed now and loves it! (knock on wood)

3. I think she is in for a big shock when our little baby arrives.

-Heath-

1. If anyone likes warm weather, it is my husband. He is not the type of person who can stay inside for long periods of time without becoming "cranky". This winter has been hard for the two of us and we are especially looking forward to it being over.

2. He is enjoying flying at Diamond more now.

3. His boss bought him a share of an airplane which he uses whenever he can, honestly he can't get enough of it.

-Me-

1. My due date is April 5 (this Sunday). I have small contractions every now and then, nothing constant. I've decided not to have my cervix checked which my doctor is fine with so I have no clue if I'm dilated or effaced. He seems to think this baby will be about 7.5 pounds possibly a bit bigger. The heartbeat sounds good and it kicks A LOT. I can tell that my body and mind are preparing to give birth what with the CRAZY organizing/cleaning. All I can think about is making sure everything is ready for my trip to the hospital. I don't sleep well at night and leakage of bodily fluids from pretty much every orifice of my body is occurring. I can't complain though, this pregnancy has been a breeze compared to last time and I'm enjoying every lasting minute. I think we are all excited to finally see the baby and know what it is. (I want another girl, Heath of course wants a boy). We have no names officially picked out. I wanted to deliver in April because I think diamonds are a fantastic birthstone (I know it's vain) and my Mom's birthday is April which will make it twice as special!

2. I work everyday still and all of my coworkers are so nice to me. There are bets being put on my delivery date. I plan on working until the end of this week which will start the beginning of spring break.

3. My school term is over at the end of April and my instructors have been very understanding. I have been accepted into the teaching program for Fall 2009, which I'm so excited about!

*I will post something as soon as I can (as far as the baby is concerned). My doctor is leaving next Thursday for an Easter vacation and if the baby isn't here by then I'm thinking of inducing- I don't know for sure.

Dual Immersion, I Had to Say Something...

Dual Immersion. You see- this is why I love living in a small town, everyone seems to have an opinion about everything (including me). Especially when it doesn't directly affect them. Of course without differing opinions our world would be a depressing and bland place to live. Recently an elementary school in our community announced that it will implement the Spanish dual immersion program starting next year. This simple and seemingly harmless topic brought out some interesting and conflicting view points. I personally don't see the problem with children being encouraged to learn two languages, considering the fact that many Spanish-speaking students are already doing this. Why shouldn't English-speaking children have the same opportunities? Knowing multiple languages could only further a person in any career/field. Am I missing something? Not everyone agrees with my viewpoint. That is fine. What I don't understand is why they must impose their contradictory thoughts on everyone else? If you don't like- fine, but let's be fair. Let students/parents decide for themselves what is best. I wonder if these same people who are against dual immersion would feel the same about another language, something other than Spanish? Certainly they wouldn't frown on an excellent educational opportunity because of their ignorant and downright nasty prejudices? No of course not, people couldn't possibly be that unreasonable, so it must be for some other reason I'm just not noticing at the moment. Silly me.

So, watching the inauguration with 26 kindergartners turned out to not be as successful as one would imagine. That is what youtube was invented for, right?
Congratulations to the new President.
He certainly has his work cut out for him.
It will be nearly impossible for him to live up to all the hype surrounding his administration, he would have to be magical- which of course he isn't.
The most exciting thing to me is that the President listed in our new baby's book at the time of his/her birth will be

I had to take an all-important test last Saturday. Hello 5:30am in the morning to drive to Orem by 7:00! P.S. Pregnant people should not have to wake up that early, ever. I am not a good test-taker. I over think. I knew (well, not 100% knew) that Lyndon Johnson was the President in 1965 but I second guessed myself at the end and changed it to Kennedy- wrong! Praxis II is the test perspective and already licensed Elementary Educators must take- it is 120 multiple choice questions that consist of material you would see featured on the show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader". Stupid tests.

1. I expect a lot from people.
2. I love birthdays and holidays and think everyone else should too.
3. Traveling: should've done more of it before I had kids.
4. On the above statement- my biggest personal dream is to go to England for at least two weeks.
5. I get mad at myself for being vain, because it is pointless.
6. Communicating: I need serious help with expressing my feelings. Writing is my only solace and also gives comfort to my friends and family. Otherwise I might be considered weird.
7. Money has created wrinkles and cellulite on my body.
8. I have watched the new Pride & Prejudice about 25 times.
9. I am addicted to playing card games online, and we own a Wii?
10. Food: is a particular addiction for me and I take full advantage when I'm pregnant.
11. Someday I would like to be a veterinarian.
12. Thirteen is my favorite number.
13. School: keeps me busy. Prevents me from my hobby: reading for sport.
14. I don't understand people with ADD/ADHD: which is pretty much every person in my family. Probably explains the lack of communication.
15. I love my family, no really I love my family.
16. Relationships: can't live with them, can't live without them.

I honestly feel bad for people who don't have birthdays around the holidays. Some might say that it is awful, I don't agree.

Thank you to everyone who gave me a call, text, sent a card, and all of the above. Some highlights:

1. Heath bought me a Miche Bag (how embarrassing that my husband knows more about me than fashion, I had no idea these bags even existed).

2. Ever since we have moved here three years ago my Mom has given me the EXACT

same birthday card. :)

It was hard to leave our house yesterday, what with all of the snow. My parents took us to dinner at the Zermatt and afterwards we spent the night playing games on our new Wii.
Uneventful- yes but memorable nonetheless.

My friend Amy turned me into one of those people, last night. Those people who (for whatever reason) choose watching a movie at midnight, over sleep. See the movie if you like the series, because every Twilight fan should. Remember: movies are never as good as books and you will probably enjoy it. Edward is SOOOOOO MUCH better looking in my imagination. Finally- you might want to wait awhile and let the crowds die down a little. I give Twilight 2 out of 5 Cedric Diggorys, I mean Edward Cullens.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts, I've been busy (yes) and there isn't anything to post about. Can you believe I've been debating with myself whether or not I should post anything about the election? I really am glad that it's over. Of course I am elated about Obama winning (I know I said I didn't care- I really did, but you all knew that didn't you?). Good luck to you Mr. President Elect, you're going to need it.

Now for a topic that has been bothering me as of late:

-Proposition 8-

I've tried to have an open mind, but sometimes too much "openness" allows brain spillage. I'm sorry to a majority of people I love for standing strongly against something you stand so strongly for.

I don't understand how people can preach for love and acceptance in this world and at the same time make it impossible for others to realize these things? Against the law to be wed? Don't you think the bigger punishment would be to allow marriage? :) Seriously. Who cares if homosexual people want to find their happily ever after, the same way the rest of us do? Isn't it their right as citizens of this country (just as it is ours) to achieve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? I want desperately to understand why this is so important to you and why you think it threatens your own marriages... Personally, I think God has more important things to do than sit around worrying about same-sex marriage not while genocide, child-predators, and people trafficking still occur EVERY SINGLE DAY! I wanted to remain neutral, however due to my ignorance and fear of mob-mentality I played a small role in this atrocity.

This is the first Halloween that I have not dressed up, ever. With the busy life I have and the excitement of taking McKenzie trick-or-treating it became last on my priority list. McKenzie had fun taking candy, literally taking candy, from strangers. Not once were the words "Trick-or-Treat" uttered from her lips. Heath and I said it plenty in many failed attempts to get her to say it, oh well maybe next time. Below is a picture of Heath dressed as I don't know- The Grim Reaper? He was really scary.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but the best part of Halloween as a kid is putting on your costume and parading around the school like nobodies business. Unfortunately those carefree days of the past are gone. I have to go to work today- a classroom full of excited kindergartners will never know the joy of the Elementary School Halloween parade. Quite sad indeed.

Amy, Will, McKenzie, & I took a trip to the hottest place in town on Monday. Seriously though, everyone in Heber was at UVU Wasatch Campus enjoying the free and overcrowded festivities held there in light of the upcoming holiday- you guessed it, "wear a ridiculous puffy shirt and/or skirt that makes your diaper fall off" day. Good times were had by all, rest assured. Will looked quite dashing.

Denise, her friend Claudia, and I all went to the Capitol Theater on Monday evening. We saw the most remarkable Opera, Madame Butterfly. To say that the music and singing was beautiful would be an understatement. B.F. Pinkerton's son was played by an actual actor and I don't think there was a person in the audience not captivated by his most impressive performance. He couldn't have been any older than five or six years old and he stole the show!! Thanks Denise for inviting me along, I had a wonderful time.

Our family lost a very special member this weekend. Not one person could ever say they were the same after meeting him. I understand the point of "debates" my question to the under thinking over paid fat cats running the networks, "Why must we show the painfully obsolete and irrational conversations assumed to be a political necessity on EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL?" It's true. Heath & I are expecting a visit

from this fellow next year. We are so excited! Our second child is due at the beginning of April.

Right now I am 13 weeks. Last week we heard the heart beat for the first time. I think anyone who has been pregnant knows how big of a milestone this is- it makes it real.

Without "jinx"ing it: I have not thrown up once and have had mild nausea- for those of you who know what I went through during my first pregnancy, it's a miracle. Certain people are convinced this is a sign the baby is a boy. I'm not so sure. I will be happy with either, honestly.

McKenzie knows there is a baby in Mommy's tummy but I don't for a second think she has the slightest clue what it means.

I will try not to be too predictable:

Joys:
1. Reading- I couldn't live without it, however lately I have been barely getting by. This has always been a way for me to "escape" to far off places and live in different shoes.
2. My Family- I have to agree with Jessica, there are a lot of people (particularly on one side) to look up to and admire. I always have a good time when we get together. This also includes the family that lives at my house, they are the reason I wake up in the morning- literally, McKenzie is an alarm clock of her own.
3. Games/Movies- I love playing games! I'm not competitive at all- it's true I really could care less if I win or lose. I would love a big family just so that I could play games with people, finally! Surprisingly being an only child doesn't offer a lot of choices as far as partners go. Movies are my favorite pastime besides reading for the same reasons.

Fears:
1. Hair- Mostly I am terrified of being hairy. It is an unfortunate trait that runs high in my genes. Thick, dark, grow like a weed in places you wish it didn't... hair. The razor is my friend.
2. Disability- I like walking, talking, and using my mind. I would be disappointed if I wasn't able to do any one of those things. To be clear: I'm not afraid of people with disabilities.
3. Spiders/E.T.

Goals:
1. Raising my children to be productive members of society.
2. Finishing college- maybe even a master's degree? Who knows.
3. The top 100 novels. Go Denise & Lindsey!!

Obsessions/Collections:
1. The Office.
2. Blogging.
3. McKenzie.

Random Facts:
1. I have two tattoos (Heath was supposed to buy me a third, but he hasn't).
2. The three movies that had an impact on my life are: Schindler's List, Glory, & I Am Legend.
3. I talk to myself a lot.

I hope you learned something about me today, otherwise you just wasted like ten minutes that you will NEVER get back, ever. Ever. After two years of blogging all of my personal thoughts and commenting on everything, none of these things should be surprising. Saturday Night, It's True I Went Out...

I honestly can't remember when the last time I went "out" on a Saturday night was. My Aunt Denise was gracious enough to invite me along on a music appreciation outing. We attended Abravanel Hall's tribute to Beethoven's Ode to Joy. What an experience! The music lover in me could not help but appreciate the work that went into this performance. The conductor was amazing, the symphony remarkable, and the vocalists were indescribable- really you just had to be there. Thanks Denise for a fantastic night of culture and I really am looking forward to our next adventure!! P.S. Thanks to my parents for watching McKenzie.

I'm never sure what constitutes a blog entry, I've personally come to accept anything in my life that is out of the "ordinary" as exciting and therefore worth sharing. Yesterday my child, my first born used the toilet (I don't mean to flush for the thousandth time a handful of just toilet paper) I mean really used the potty. As a first time parent and someone with limited exposure to toddlers I had no clue how thrilling this could be. This is the start of no diapers and more independence, for everyone involved. Now, seeing as this momentous event took place at our friend Amy's house- who knows if it will ever happen again. Really though, who cares?! At least I know now she is capable, in fact she's a genius. Anyone with experience on this subject is asked to add a comment regarding any potty-training tips/advice for us "new" parents with a two-year old that is obviously interested in the potty. Honestly, we have no clue what we are doing.

So I've FINALLY figured out how to achieve getting more than 3 comments on my posts- don't post anything for a week. Becky: Yep. Amy: Yep. I don't like writing much on here- who really cares what my kid's doing or whatever...Somewhere 3 people are actually going to read this. Here's an update on what is going on: I try to work full time at the store (P.S. Mom no laughing). I'm taking 12 credits at UVU (Drawing, Race & Minority Relations, Meteorology, Computers). I have a two year old that is smarter than all get out. Nothing really exciting and no new pictures. Heath is working full time at the restaurant and part time at the flight center. Hopefully our schedule will slow down soon, probably not. Anyway we are grateful for all of the wonderful people in our lives that help us accomplish these many tasks. The only thing to post about are the current political issues facing our great nation and because the majority of you don't see eye-to-eye with me I've decided just to leave it alone. Probably best, people get defensive ("what" you might say? Not me, I'm cool- yeah right) and frankly a little irrational when it comes to some of the topics/people running. It will be interesting. So, that's all for now. I'm done. Hope all is well with everyone. P.S. The holidays are coming up and I'm SUPER excited about taking McKenzie out trick-or-treating for the first time! She of course has no clue what this is and what she will have to endure the night of. Oh well. Everyone wears masks lady, literally (that is my nonchalant way of being "intellectual" and "insightful").

The three of us took our annual summer vacation to a little place called Bear Lake. We had a lot of fun and saw a lot of interesting things (people in swimsuits who should not be in swimsuits).

We had a shake almost every night. Of course, I was the only one who gained like 14 pounds because of it. (Totally and completely worth it).

She was a faithful friend- an unofficial member of the family: my "sister", our pet.

For over 16 years her smile and wagging tail greeted us at the door.

Her love and companionship were tried, tested she remained until the end: "True Blue."

As the watcher/keeper of our family her duties were never left unattended; she did not take vacations and took her protector's job very seriously.

Sadly, her health declined and it was time to say "goodbye"- then another couple of years passed and our experiences with her finally came to an end.

10. The Bachlorette- in what other country would a woman be encouraged to date and possibly make-out with multiple men (on camera I might add) North Korea? Uh-huh. P.S. Go Jason!
9. The Twilight Series- God Bless Stephenie Meyer and her ability to write stories about Vampires who suck blood from innocent creatures but are unwilling to have sex before marriage. Whatever, I loved it.
8. The Dark Knight. I haven't seen it, but I will.
7. Dharma & Greg. Seriously: have you ever seen an episode?
6. A Woman, a black man, and a "normal" guy were all candidates for president. Thanks to one of my cousins for pointing this out. Pure genius. It is sad that some people can't think for themselves.
5. Elmo. My child has been provided hours of entertainment via someones idea of a cruel joke- really though.
4. BCBGMaxazria: I had all but given up hope of ever finding a dress for an upcoming wedding and then a part through the fog of despair- Maxie is having a summer sale. I think it is pretty damn cute if you ask me. P.S. I didn't do my research- do they have their clothes made out of the U.S?
3. Angelina Jolie. This woman will have 6 kids under the age of 10 and she looks amazing and she works and she is an ambassador or was and she has a pet by the name of Brad Pitt (have you seen his new movie coming out-something about Benjamin Button?). I think she deserves some respect, but just because I feel bad about not commenting on the fact that she stole another girl's husband I'm also including Jennifer Aniston in number three. Apparently John Mayer is good at something- baking bread maybe? I bet she eats a lot of bread.
2. President George W. Bush. I know what you are all thinking, those of you who know me- holy crap she actually put his name on her blog? I think some of you will be surprised to read that I DID vote for him and not because I knew it was pointless to vote against the grain in Utah but because the alternatives weren't that great either. I basically picked the worst of the two evils, or so I thought. AH I've lost site of why I put him on now- oh yeah! No matter what you think or believe or read- you have to admire the kahoonies it takes to keep on trucking even after you've reached the lowest possible approval rating ever!! Good for you leader of the free world, I kind of admire you, not really.
1. The 4th of July: this isn't really popular culture but I love the holiday that we can all put our differences aside and celebrate the fact that we live in a country that makes all of the above things even possible. That being said- please don't be the idiot that blows something up with some illegal fireworks you bought in Wyoming. Unless you live in Wyoming and then good luck blowing up anything there, because apparently we are all out of oil resources hence the $10.00/gallon gas, am I right?! Anyway- you know who you are!! Will is a daredevil in the tub, he almost gave me a heart attack when he dove into the water head first. I really do think boys are less cautious. I lost my mind. Heath and I went to Wyoming this weekend- pictures to come. I forgot to call my fabulous DAD on Father's Day!! I'm an only child- he only gets one call. I feel awful and am trying to redeem myself by posting something special just for him. I really couldn't be any luckier and I wonder every day why the world works like it does, why my fantastic parents couldn't have any more kids!! Oh well. So I found this poem (I couldn't write my own because it is way too tender of a subject).

When I told McKenzie that she had been tagged by Will- she was ecstatic!! If you don't know- McKenzie loves to talk about herself, it really is quite annoying- Kenzie this and Kenzie that...

Here are 8 things you might not know about our precious gem:

1. Shoe Fetish.

She loves to take them off and put them on. It doesn't even matter if they belong to her or not. It isn't just sometimes, it is all the time! All day long with the shoes.

2. Slides: best invention since- ever!!

Nana and Grandpa bought McKenzie a new little slide and it has become an obsession. "Kenzie, Slide, Nana's House, Rocky, Kitty, Slide, Bampa, Slide, Shoes, Slide...." You get the picture.

3. No Elmo = End of World.
Our child would marry Elmo and leave us forever if it weren't for the fact that he is famous and a puppet.

4. She can count to Thirteen!!
She skips the numbers 4 and 6, but all in good time. Thanks Elmo!

5. Mean as Hell when she is tired, hungry, or any other time she feels like it.
This is pretty much 58% of the time she is awake, 40%-happy as a clam, 2%- you don't even want to know.

6. Loves music- loves dancing- loves "singing".
I think she has a preference for country, but I'm prejudice.

7. Like EVERYONE else in my family- has a comfort food:
Cheetos, pasta, toast w/jam, candy, & "puppy's juice".

8. Can and does strap herself into the bike trailer.
Our girlie girl gets the biggest thrill out of bike rides, she even gives up precious Elmo time for it.

Let's face it, where do I go after the Twilight Series? I'm lost. So, I've decided to make a goal, a real in-your-face goal. I'm choosing to read the top 100 novels. I did some research, because apparently there isn't some magical list written in stone that every person agrees with. Then I found this interesting nugget of bloggerness: CREATIVE VISION BLOG. I like her style and she seems to have the same goal as me! I've heard that if you write your goals down it gives them a place to take root- or some other such nonsense. (Much like Leisa, I'm also reading the books I've already read). I know this is huge, but I would love to have someone who is committed to the cause by my side- a "reading buddy". I unfortunately have to go outside of my immediate family for this. Let me know if you are interested. I will be starting at the bottom with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. P.S. I prefer someone who will be loyal/dedicated.

I can have alcohol, prescription drugs (the good stuff), and cough syrup in my house for months and never once think about them. I thought this meant that I don't have an addictive personality- I was wrong. I started Twilight on Mon. night @ 9:00 pm and finished it this morning @ 1:00 am. I put my marriage in jeopardy, my job in jeopardy, hell- even McKenzie had to feed and put herself to sleep. I told Heath that he has two options: 1.) Find and buy New Moon and Eclipse and bring them home with him today 2.) Don't come home. I'm feeling secure that he will choose the right one. Nothing will or ever can replace my beloved "Little Women", however this is a very,very close second. No MAN could have ever written this book.

The Thirteenth Tale

Twinness: an interesting subject. I never really thought about what it must be like to be a twin. Identical- to have someone who looks like you. Everyone thinks they are ugly or fat at some point in their life but, do you feel the same way when your sister is exactly like you? Is there a difference? Like I said, interesting. I never really identified with any of the characters and I really liked it!! Good book (if you have the time) not a MUST read.

I was unprepared for this movie. I knew it was a documentary about the pro-life stance on abortion, I did NOT know they use graphic images to persuade people to their side. This group of people compares the images and how they show them to the crucifixion of Christ. Interesting.

I'm fairly certain I will be the last person on this planet to read these books, but I've been busy with school and work and a baby and a husband and seriously people get off my back already!!! Anyway- I'm excited because the copy I ordered just arrived in the mail and if I had ADHD like everyone else I know I could start it right away. Unfortunately I have to finish the book I'm reading before I can begin another one....(Which by the way is The 13th Tale) Also: today is the last day of the semester and this morning we took McKenzie to storybook time at the local library. Why is it that every great movie comes from a great book, and now I have to read it? Crap. Sometimes no matter what you do or the reasons you do things you can never achieve "atonement" for them. Perhaps the atonement that Briony received was her eventual death, maybe not. Keira Knightley has and always will remind me of my cousin Jessica, very pretty. I think the guy in this plays Jane Austen's lover in Becoming Jane, I like him who ever he is....I give Atonement 4 out of 5 typewriters.

Alas, bunco was at my house last night!! I hope everyone had a good time- I know I did! Thank you to Amylee and Terra for the continual ringing in my ears via their "subtle" hints that they or someone at their table had bunco. Congratulations to Amber on getting out of the house only four days after giving birth (who looked great by the way). I did nothing for at least a week following the birth of McKenzie for fear of my vagina falling out. You C-Section people have no clue what I'm talking about. See ya next month girls!!

No Country for Old Men

For once in my life I don't know what to say. I LOVED this movie!! The scene between the sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) and Ellis (Barry Corbin) in the kitchen, is the best movie scene in existence. I respect everyone out there who refrain from watching rated "R" movies (and I know more than one person) but this movie will never be the same when it is edited for content. I give No County for Old Men five out of five "lucky" quarters. P.S. The quarters do have a say!
